A level built to be the music video for its own song. Widely held to be the best-decorated extreme demon ever made.

The decoration follows the official music video for Silentroom’s “Nhelv” — not as a reference, as a structure. Every flash lands on something.

The shape of it

  1. Down the mountainThe level strips back. My absolute favorite part.
  2. Rhythmic displacementIn the music, right before the climax. It is what makes the drop land.
  3. Second dropOne final, desperate push.
  4. The final dualEvery visual trick, fake and obstacle it has left.

Why it’s here

An absolute masterpiece of chaotic design.

Nhelv is just an absolute masterpiece of chaotic design. The fact that a level intentionally created to be one of the game's most brutal memory demons also happens to be one of the best-decorated, most atmospheric levels of all time is astonishing. Silentroom's track gives it this frantic, glitchy, almost overwhelming energy, and the visual design matches it perfectly with abstract, monochromatic structures that constantly shift and deceive you.

My absolute favorite part is the transition down the “mountain” right before the second drop and the final dual. The way the level strips back and builds tension here is incredible. The rhythmic displacement in the music right before the climax makes the final drop feel genuinely epic. It feels as if the level itself is alive, making one final, desperate push and throwing every visual trick, fake, and obstacle it possibly can at you, expending all its remaining energy to try and kill your run. Beating Nhelv feels like surviving a digital apocalypse.

This is still very unfinished

A lot of the descriptions could be wrong, and a ton of the writing here is still all AI.

So if you see something wrong, I already know about it.
